Coaching and Supervision

We offer coaching as a one-off longer-session (3-4 hours) or over a series. A coach supports and challenges the coachee, enabling them to identify and clarify their own goals and develop their own plans to achieve them. The coach neither advises nor guides, focusing instead on creating a productive, focused space for the coachee to explore and pursue their own thinking. Practically, coaching takes the form of a structured conversation or coaching ‘session’ in which the coachee is encouraged to think for themselves through attentive listening, skilled questioning and sometimes exercises.
Coaching is ideal for personal development, overcoming ‘stuckness’, dealing with issues and challenges, increasing confidence, changing and/or developing direction. Contact us to explore options for 1-2-1 coaching or contact a coach directly through the ‘Who We Are’ page.

As the UK’s specialist training and development company for coaches in the arts we also maintain a directory of RD1st trained coaches . If you are looking for a coach, it can be useful to choose a few names and then arrange a call to get a ‘chemistry’ feel and to find out about their practice e.g. costs, experience, their philosophy, whether they have regular supervision for their practice etc.

If you have recently completed your accredited training with RD1st and are keen to progress your learning, we offer shared supervision for recent graduates (for two or three people) at a discounted rate for the hour.  We also offer individual supervision.
Access to regular, high-quality supervision is essential for coaches at all stages of their career and recommended by our professional body The Association for Coaching.
